I notice though you dont play classical as a normal classical player would with the guitar on the left leg!
Is that just a comfort thing?

For music with a lot of rasgueados in, I find the standard flamenco position easier.
When I play classical pieces, I do in fact rest the guitar on the left leg and use a footstool.

Here is a Wikipedia entry on rasgeado: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rasgueado. It basically just means to "rake" the fingers of the right hand across the strings. There are many standard types.

I'll post a video below where a couple are used in the same piece. You can see how this player utilizes his right hand quite clearly compared to most and he executes it like I have not seen many others do.
