Laney LC30-II and other valve amps similar?

Im looking to get a valve amp (finally gasing in the right direction...) preferably something that does good cleans as well as an overdrive sound up to classic rock sort of gains and will still sound ok with pedals adding extra distortion for metal sounds, though metal isn't the priority...

I see on gumtree someone is selling a Laney LC30-II for R4500 and it retails for R10k on take2. Has anyone had experience with this amp before? And does this sound like a good deal or are there other amps I should be looking at? Im looking at getting a secondhand amp though as brand new is too expensive...

another issue though, how do you deal with shipping over gumtree? Its not exactly the safest bet...Maybe someone really nice would go try it out for me and after meeting the guy (and knowing where he lives if cops need to be called...) could tell me if its safe and if its in good condition? The guy is in Milnerton...

dude i have that exact amp. good price imo..

i dig it... cleans are awesome and the gain channel can get quite filthy. does acdc to hard rock easily.
the master vol also helps tame the thing because it is loud as hell.
played a hall with about 500 pepole with it and it rocked.

has 8 tubes in all and a celestion driver. effects loop works well and you can select between 4 and 8 ohms for ext speakers.

the spring reverb is nice and the amp is quite quiet.

i can recommend it. guys often pipe up about laneys this and that..

i like it... great tone and built like a tank. had 2 fuses blow but after putting in a 1 A FUSE its been going no prob for close on 2 yrs
