@MikeM: are you referring to the double post? Cos otherwise this is totally relevant. This is Hammeron's band and she's a regular poster. I have far greater problems with these dudes that do absolutely nothing except post videos and don't participate on the forum in other ways.

Although, Hammeron, probably youtube videos is the right sub-forum. Or in the GFSA'ers in action thread.

Yeah. Mike's got a point. People that want to see it will check it out even if you just post it once. There aren't too many vids posted by members (apart from the "members" who do nothing besides post vids) so chances are people will check it out. Truuust the foooorum, Hammeron...

Yea, we toned it down, its like a little Rock doccy about the bands evolution. Down tone is as good as the new uptone! ?

I like it Tamla. Not a big fan of screechy vocals personally (?) but I like the dynamics in the song. I really like the single-note riff that you play later in the song too.

The vid itself is pretty cool: it's got a real local flavour about it, and a kind of "backstage" vibe going on, all while being a little quirky and off kilter.

Just a note on the song.. Id idnt notice no double post....... but anyway ?

your drummer is .... very messy, and I dont think he knows it........ Now I am not just going to say that and offer no suggestion.......

May I suggest you remove his double bass (a practice I have performed many a time) and do not giive it back to him for another year!!! because that thing was bumping all out time....... Its fine if a drummer can actually use it properly... but it seems he is struggling to play tight already, with or without the double bass. Maybe also throw him onto a click track, especially for recording, and practice.

A good drummer will tighten the whole sound up........ if a song does not groove when its just bass and drums its most often not a good song

My 3 cents, as I feel its worth more than 2 cents, not as much as 4 cents

and i agree with mika re the timing not being slick but you guys are young so just keep working and the biggest positive is..... flaws or not ,you have material on the net and thats great for your marketing .....well done....... and no recording is ever flawless unless it's had millions of dollars thrown at it and for a young band , in fact for most bands thats not gonna happen, so fabulous you have material out there in the market .congrats keep it coming

There are some cool parts to that...
The editing on the guitar solo, very retro but awesome.. it made me smile...

I like the parts where you intend to slow down. It makes the song feel heavier.

It's a cool song as well. Good riffs, decent arrangement. Great concept for the video as well.

Not completly true, you get good recordings without lots of studio time, or studio tricks..... I find some of my favourite recordings are the ones that were made for nothing...... its mostly about quality of material and the way it relates to a specific market.....
listen to how bad this recording is, and then at the same time pitchfork gave it 9/10 the guy headlined primevera sound, he toured the world and is on his 3rd album right now, no nice recording nessacary

actually mika thats my point of view too......... i was just saying that i was pleased they released a track flaws and all, cos many hold off from releasing till it's perfect but most bands that "make it" do that on the back of shoddy recordings ........and sure i agree with you yet again in that the song is more important than the recording .....
