Well, no, as a matter of fact the first thing I did to my last new car was to rip out the crap OEM speakers and upgraded them with some nice jensens. But its not like I'm gonna put a Jensen sticker behind the wheel arch or on the dashboard. The point is that car audio reaches the nil-return-on-investment level extremely quickly, and just because you have expensive brand name kit doesnt mean that it's going to sound any better. Fact is if they chose a known quantity like Grundig youd be assured of a quality product, however this fender business is nothing but marketroid shennanigens aimed at wannabes.
You obviously havent heard good sounding speakers.
There is quite a difference between Focal, who make professional audio, home audio and car audio, to those Jensens.
i assure you, you CAN hear a difference.
Whether you want to spend the money on it, that it the real question!
Keep in mind, im not talking about thundering bass here, im not interested in mind numbing SPL with subwoofers that only play one note.
Thats is not car audio, that is just a noise.
Something to keep in mind, Panasonic isnt exactly known for premium quality speakers, so its interesting that Fender chose to partner with them.
Dynaudio, who do the bulk of the VW brands speakers though cant be too happy about this.
They have been standard equipment for quite a while!
