Look... I hope you're right and that you have rendered your guitar playable. But I wonder how much it cost you, and I wonder how much all that work (fret dressing IIRC) would have cost somebody like me who doesn't have the time, tools or skill to do it. Add that to the cost of the guitar and would it have been cheaper to get something else?
The thing is, if I had paid R6K or whatever for a better axe, the cost of getting it set up by a skilled tech is minimal in the context of the purchase price. But a cheapy? Suddenly the ratio isn't so favourable, to the extent that I'd rather tinker with it myself and learn stuff in the process. I'm not a cheapskate by any means, I'm just practical that way. If it gets buggered, it can get bolted on one of the lighties' bedroom walls and I'll get something else that's better.
I honestly have no idea whether it's truly playable or not. All I can offer is my own opinion, which is "this ain't too bad". Nevertheless, you've given me an idea - I'll ask my tutor for his opinion, the man seems to know his stuff.
Whatever the outcome, my learning goals for this year have a nice axe upgrade as the prize! ?
