guitar1234 G'day This afternoon i came home to find my shed flooded and my amp 1/4 submerged in water :'(. At the moment its drying out but will it work again??Its a Line 6 Spider IIII 30 watt and the speaker cone itself is wet on the rim but the rest is just a bit moist. So what are my chances of it working???
IceCreamMan i think you going to get lucky an it will work ..BUT let it dry thotoughly first .... might look a tad kark but so long as it works ... of course this is just my thinking and it may not
AlanRatcliffe It should be OK once thoroughly dry, as long as the speaker voice coils haven't been submerged. Even if they were it would depend on what contaminants were in the water.
Karel-Mars Your cabinet is the most likely part to get damaged. Dry out the unit slowly - do not put it in direct sun. Water stays long under IC's. The speaker might even sound better ???
guitar1234 AndrewD wrote you keep your amp in a shed?? I sometimes play in my shed if its a nice day, I forget to take my amp out of the shed and the next day we had a torrential downpour. Thanks for the tips guys, i'll give it a few days to dry. Cheers!
Attila AndrewD wrote you keep your amp in a shed?? Yaaa he hasent told his wife about the new amp yet :?

Yeah but a few weeks back, here in Welkom the "bandroom" also flooded partially. But I managed to get all the equipment out before any damage was done. Just had a footswitch submerged, which worked after drying - Water was just above footlength at the time. Stressful moments..
