Looks VERY interesting, that. But it looks like synth sounds is its main thing. Nice to have though!

It is basically, 2 synth channels with one E guitar channel. The E guitar channel has got all the functions that the BOSS GT-10 has. This thing is way awesome, I have the big brother VG-99.

Regarding my original post the POD HD sounds very nice...
HD300 looks a bit too simplified and HD500 looks expensive.. There is also the HD400 which is in between.

Does anyone know price and availabilty of the HD400 and 500?

I thought the HD400 had nearly all the limitations of the HD300? Same number of simultaneous effects etc? (Could be remembering it wrong.)

The GR-55 is interesting - basically a guitar synth with some VG guitar processing added. The first guitar synth from Roland in a while that looks worthwhile (Doubly so now Terratec have discontinued the Axon). I might replace my GT-8 and GI-20 with one for piezo processing. Somehow I don't think it has quite all the capabilities the GT-10 does though (although it does have the synth stuff extra) and it requires a hex pickup for a lot of stuff (like the VG).

I recorded this into my Soundblaster Live soundcard, 335 type guitar, humbuckers, Pod HD500, DrZ Route 66 amp sim with a touch of a Mesa Dual Rectifier added in.
The wah is one of the HD500 wah models.

Sounds pretty good through headphones.

Goodness, that sounds nice (to my untrained ear). Can someone really find something off putting from that? ??? I suspect a lot of that tone is also coming from the player ?

Nice call dude, for effects I do think the GT-10 has a lot more going for it. As for the amp sims, I prefer them...They take a little more tweaking but all in all I've found I prefer the response and dynamic that the GT delivers to the Line 6. With the amp sims I think BOSS didn't do a bad job, they just didn't focus in on trying to be as anal. They're more sorta ball park, but in someways I find they're more sculptable than the POD. Also if the sims don't do it for you in recording you can try impulse recabbing ?

The USB etc comes in pretty handy as well ?

Guys, my only question remains...
What kind of amp do you use after the FX pedal?
any amp you wish? SS? Tube?
Preferably a clean tube?

After my effects pedal i use a solid state 80W.
But because of fancy modern amp sims i was thinking of getting a nice PA, or even a keyboard amp (maybe 2, or stereo) instead of the guitar amp.

With my valve amp i usually plug straight in, haven't found a pedal yet that doesn't spoil the sound.
