So I heard a rumor that KOL are postpone there SA concerts till November...so I did sum googling to verify this and whilst doing so,I stumbled across this......

Some years ago there was a cricket match in England that was substantially delayed. The two captains were Clive Lloyd and Clive Rice. The conditions were initially bad but then cleared. However there was still a soggy patch on the field in an area where fielders were likely to be positioned. The captains took some criticism for not getting the match underway earlier. Clive Rice said "We do want to put on a show, but it has to be the right kind of show."

There's a line somewhere, but where it is is not clear. The performers understand (one hopes) that the fans have paid good money and perhaps come a long way to see them, so they need to respect that. However they do need to put on the right kind of show. If something happens that endangers a performer's health then they probably can't do that.

I don't think level of success is any excuse, and I'm not sure it's true that successful bands become blase. I'm not into the whole stadium rock thing, and I don't think U2 have made an interesting record in years, but people whose judgements I respect have told me that U2 still give a maximum effort when they go on stage.

That's as it should be. Every time they play they are U2.

KOL and their management had to make a call. Most spectators would not have seen the infamous pigeon in action. They would have had to risk their bass player picking up some kind of parasite or disease and thus endangering the rest of the tour. Possibly they were advised to get the guy to a doctor.

Dillinger Escape plan had a bag of human excrement thrown onstage at them......... and the singer followed by opening it and wiping it all over his body.........

Otherwise this is how one should react when belted with objects from the crowd

I think so. Well slayer was banned from new york after that. It was the most voilent concert in slayers history. Just bec some stupid manager over sold tickets. Riots went on and fires were going on in the audience and at the end slayer went to see the carnage(was a hell of a storm that night?)and there was pools of blood all over the floor ???

But I have to mention that I think bob makes a good point, rather cut one show short instead off taking the risk of potentially having to postpone or even cancel the rest of the tour because of sum bug thing......

There is probably lots of insurance involved these days and that may force issues. I notice that for the show in question a refund was offered to all ticket holders. Insurers would prefer to shell out for one cancellation, not a string, and will probably remind you to err on the side of minimising the risk.

These superstars who insist on ice cubes made from a specific brand of bottled water are not necessarily just being spoiled brats. In some cases there will be clauses in insurance about drinking tap water. An old friend of mine does special effects for movies. He told me a tale of one star who, when he did a rain scene, had to be sprayed with bottled mineral water. Not because he thought his complexion was especially delicate but because that's what the company insuring the movie against over runs or cancellation insisted on. So they had to fill tankers with approved brands of mineral water.

Well he mentions that he's been really sick? Maybe just not in the mood for morons. I saw Mike Patton (Faith No More) live and at the end of one song a guy yelled out "holy shit!" which for some reason sent Patton on a loooong rant about how he was going to fly the guy to San Francisco, buy him burrittos and kick his ass...

Yea Josh was sick (which was no excuse) but some emo kid threw a shoe or something like that at Homme on stage, but it missed, well he kinda dogged a little during song. Afterwards the kid kinda made himself available for Josh's eye sight, and well thus got a bottle on his head.

At the drive in also went quite crazy for their one show. There was a hardcore marsh pit, and they didn't like that, Cedric asked them to stop and they didn't, so he just started blerting out sheep noises for a good portion of time.

Reminds me of the gold reef city new years eve bashes, when beer bottles start flying up and down the packed streets just after midnight. Bloody dangerous shit! Whats wrong with people? I saw quite a number of bleeding skulls. Medtent always busy for no good reason.

Never mind GRC, I remember in the really old days when we used to hit Hillbrow on news years eve and people used to gooi bottles out of windows 10 or so stories up...........or moer you with a thunderflash.

I believe the beer bottles eventually turned into fridges and other appliances and furniture. Hillbrow was definitely a place to avoid for new years.

If we conservatively assume a story is about 3 metres, then:

distance = 30 metres
gravity = 9.8 metres / sec

instantaneous velocity = SquareRoot ( 2 x ( distance x gravity ) )

so

v = squareroot( 2 x 30 x 9.8)

v = 24.24871131 metres / second

So somewhere around 87.3 km/h

That's gonna leave a mark ???
