EverTune is a simple concept that keeps a string in tune until it wants to be changed. It is a very exciting development in stringed instrument technology. It is a passive, all mechanical system based on trigonometry and some rudimentary physics. Bends must ~~be near impossible if you are bending against a spring~~ feel funny running into the 'bend stop' and I wonder how much this thing affects sustain...

Sounds interesting.
I read the blurb and they speak about clever levers and springs & geometries to keep the tension constant.
I wonder how it works exactly?

The principle could be used for other things too whenever a cable needs to be kept in constant tension.
... washing lines ... tensioning cables for radio masts ... power cables ...

My first thought too, but I would guess it can only adjust so far, so it will merely mean you have to bend a bit further to get to the same note. Like with a Floyd. However I would also guess it uses a spring for each string so you won't get the annoying flat double-stop bends, etc. I also wonder what the effect is on vibrato...

Main reason why I sold the eye-gouger-with-Floyd: bends are a lot easier with the Strat and the sustain is better. Would not want to go back....

yeah... geez... I dont know... my main concern is that I love bendy singing
playing and although I can set it up that way, if the string slips it's still
going to disable the bend or make it a bigger stretch.
Setting the E, A and D strings to stay in tune would be awesome though, since
those dont need bending or vibrato often.
