Hi guys. Just a warning. On sunday, decided to plug the electric in and play while it was raining and storming outside when suddenly, lightning struck and shocked the crap out of me!!
Seriously painfull and something I'll remember in the future. Shocked straight through the strings into my chord shape ?.

someone told me about their friend that shocked to death while playing on stage with his guitar many years back, turns there was a problem with stage wiring or something.

I've lost a lot of expensive electronic equipment over the years due to direct lightning and power spikes. My house seems to attract the wrath of Zeus. If there is just a hint, just a small one, a hintlet, that there is lightning about, I perform a Kurt Cobain.

I use these surge protection things on all my power outlets, cost about R160 I think and aparently has a guarantee of R20000 if it doesn't stop a surge from nailing your stuff, haven't had to need to use the guarantee though and don't know if they'll exchange the chord for you...

2nd that, I bought a big sucker UPS that I can hook everything up and so far I've had zero issues. Our house was hit last year and it took out almost everything, my PC and old fender amp were hooked up and I had no issues. Just replaced the fuse on the UPS (R13) and everything was up again.
