Three things. Firstly, these companies thrive on fraud and deception and should not be supported whether you know the guitar's fake or not. You're supporting them deceiving people.
So when you buy one, and then sell it on to someone who knows it's a fake, and then that someone sells it for R15K to some poor kid - you started that chain.
Thirdly, and not least important for guitar players. They're total crap. Since the guitar is built purely for deception it makes no sense to spend money making them decent. So plywood and off-centre neck joins abound.
So, in fact, they're not cheap. They cost more than a play-play guitar of such abysmal quality would normally cost, purely because they have the Gibson logo on them. You'll get a R900 guitar for R3,000. Congratulations.
