Joe Robinson's Style

Hey there, I've been listening to Joe Robinson's album Time Jumping for a while now and I really enjoy it, it is sooo good to listen to ? I was wondering what other artists of a similar style are there? ? Also, comments on the album? ?

Didn't know Robinson, so I looked him up on YouTube. From what i saw you should really look at Tommy Emmanuel, who is obviously Joe's main influence. Going back further you should look at Chet Atkins and before that Merle Travis.

Merle Haggard or Merle Travis? The latter certainly has a reputation as a guitar player (having a style of finger-picking named after him), but Haggard?

An obvious Tommy Emmanuel fan, who has huge amounts of talent.

Still a bit too early in his career to determine how far removed he is from his influences and if he will develop his own style.
He sounds like a Tommy Emmanuel Clone on most of the youtube videos.
But would love to hear his solo album!

And he hasn't turned 20 yet, The Aussies win again, let's hope it's not in the CWC ?

Thanks - fixed! I did mean Travis (the style of playing is even called Travis picking!). My only excuse is a 2:30 am brainfart...

Exactly what I got, maybe a bit faster, but a little sloppier too. Amazing start though - with any luck he'll mature and become something really special.

There's a guy named Don Ross who always plays in a style that's kinda similar. If you're searching for Don Ross try to find "Tight Trite Night" or "Michael, Michael, Michael". He's also worked with Andy Mckee who is another phenominal acoustic player but not in the same vein as Tommy Emmanuel or anything like that ?
