Not really. Ovations are hybrids with wooden necks and tops and the rounded Lyracord back. CA is all carbon fibre and a more traditional box shape.
One great advantage of the CA guitars is they are immune to the climate - you can go from Arctic circle to the equator and back again and the guitar will stay stable (they don't even have or need a truss rod). They are also as durable as you get. This makes the Cargo (their travel sized guitar) popular for players flying around the world or those who live in extreme weather areas.
Also, by all accounts, they are surprisingly good sounding. Here's a review from Premier Guitar:
