Hi everyone,
I am probably your most un-musical member ?
Who doesn't want to play awesome guitar? So in order to play, I bought myself a guitar for Christmas. 2 years ago... And with a bit of luck I can probably remember which closet it has been sitting in since then. But if this dog is too old to learn, my son is a much younger dog, and he actualy likes playing, so most of my really stupid questions on this forum will be about him and his playing, rather than mine...

Hi Sander
If your interest made you buy a guitar, I am sure a couple of days on this forum will stoke it again.
Nothing better than Father and Son learning together ?

Welcome dude, nice to see another Pretoria guy in here.

Welcome. This is probably the best place on the 'net you could have found for guitar! I've never found so many experienced musicians so readily available anywhere else!

Hey Sander welcome. Yes, find that guitar, dust it off, put on some new strings and start playing again!

You're never too old to learn! I'm in my mid-thirties and picked up an axe for the first time last monday. I can already pick quite well by now, and my fretting, while atrocious, is improving every day. I can genuinely say that my improvement is remarkable to me, stuff i swore about yesterday, is much easier today.
That is every day's story! And I am not special in any way! All it takes is a bit of stupidity, pride, stubbornness and a healthy dose of hunger to be able to pick the instrument with confidence. You need to decide how much it is worth to you in the long run. For me, its one less regret to think back on one day on my deathbed. Dust that sucker off and get to it!
