What's your day job/trade?

What do you do to pay for all the guitar gear? It seems many people around here are IT guys... Would be interesting to see the demographics... I am a fresh graduate mechanical science engineer (mechatronics major). I'm currently consulting in the industrial/consumer embedded electronics industry (consumer product design/injection molded plastics etc.) and doing my master's part time.

I work with organs. Not the like the Hammond B3 though...human ones. Innards, guts, veins and arteries. If you have a diseased body part that needs to come out, I'm your guy. I can make your faulty organ...uhmmm...disappear... ? Sometimes people pay me for doing so, and I then buy guitar stuff. Many, many years ago, we used to cut hair and pull teeth also but they made us stop doing that. Yet to this day they still call us mister instead of doctor because of that... ?

Whats the going rate for a right-side lobotomy? My left hand doesnt want to work so lekker on the fretboard, i think that lobe needs to come out to make space for something with more neurons, like half a facebrick or something.

Tonedef

Or maybe the tipmost phalanx on my ringfinger, that bastard bone is aching like a mother!

Fingerpicker

I'm an ex-wekka.

Hey, don't think it's ever been tried but I'm willing to give it a go...if you throw in a set of Ernie Ball 10's I'll arrange for anaesthesia also! ? ?

Tonedef

Can't you just moer me over the head with the facebrick? It would start being useful even before it's in! Fair warning, though, you're going to need some industrial-size equipment to get through my thick skull! ?

I'm an Independent Financial Advisor. I love the job because I get to meet all sorts of people, but it is a tough business.

Jobless...unemployed... ready to take guitar and busk in front of Bayside Mall... :-\

I normally pick up my guitar and go pick a spot, sing a song, and spend the rest of the evening charging people good money so I don't sing any more...

don't knock busking ......... last year i spent the whole year working for Carnival city casino a few days a week , doing a gig where i was in a walkway appearing to be a busker but paid normal casino artist rates by the casino.....monte casino does it as well ...... so it was just to create that vibe of having buskers around the casino and oddly enough people mostly believed i was busking and each gig i made enough money from passers by to have kept the wolf from the door ..and i didn't even have a guitar case out to collect money ?....although i did sell cd's... so long as theres enough people traffic busking is an option.and if you have a cd to sell too that is a revenue income .....

although i would be careful of where to busk for safety reasons..... one doesn't want your gear stolen along with your days takings

Lol, quality!

I have a problem with MS Hearts - it's just too damn easy playing against the computer. My score is always WAY higher than the computer opponents. What a waste of time. ?

Renesongs

I'm ex IT they threw me out 10yrs ago now I'm ~~unemployed~~ a professional musician. I teach guitar and with the money I make from teaching I get to be able to afford to play live in a band. I also fix computers and sell my body to anyone is willing to pay. Lets just say to live your life on your own terms is true success so I am satisfied ?
