Was looking around for goooood mic pre, but the pro stuff is sooo pricy. So figured there's two alternatives: diy or oldies. With too many projects in the diy department, it's either going to have to wait or going to have to be a lucky find of a golden oldie.
Long story short, any of the recording gurus have founded opinions on or alternatives for the G9 mentioned?

FMR Audio RNP
, which is an affordable but high quality pre.
