??? As a matter of interest, where are you supposed to apply the talcum powder?
Govendl3, ja, the problem is partly that when you're playing individually picked notes, you can't just mute all six strings indiscriminately - the sympathetic noise coming from the other strings is either happening because they're not being touched at all and are ringing out when the body vibrates (though I find this happens much more on my little nylon-string acoustic than on my electrics) or one of your hands is accidentally knocking them/making them vibrate. So it becomes a little game of muting the strings you aren't using with whatever parts of the hand or fingers are available, without compromising your playing. And picking as accurately as possible. I don't think there's one easy answer as to what to use, IMO.
