What metal solo are you working towards learning?

As the title suggests what metal solo are you working towards?

I have 2

Judas priest-painkiller

Megadeth-tornado of souls.

This is for the shredders ?

Ah must start learning Painkiller! And Tornado of Soulsone of my fave Megadeth tracks.

I've got Priests 'Ram it Down', er, down but still not up to the ridiculous speed. ???

Been learning the solos form Animals as Leaders 'Wave of Babies'..

Awesome. Can play the rhythm to painkiller and tornado of souls. Been learning mainly slayer solos. And they are getting too easy.

band i play with do rock you like a hurricane .... always just worked on the rythym of it but on the weekend picked up a tab for the second guitar during the main rriff which i am working on ... not really a solo though more of a "filler"

not difficult from progression point of view but its played at lighning speed and this is the problem ?

Thats the one thing I can do is play really fast. but have you seen painkillers solo ??? tapping and sweeping in seconds ???

And tornado of souls the sweeping is getting me :'(

Quite a hectic song "Rock you like a hurricane" , I will give it a bash. How does the vocalist cope, Klaus Meine's vocals are not that easy!

Meine's voice is unique and extremely diffucult to emulate (nay impossible ) so we sorta put our own spin on it ...the song itself is not difficult at all and we have played it a couple of times at practice with encouraging results. We have an incredibly talented chap doing vocals who been around music for 25 odd years. Just a matter of putting raw emotion into it which we getting too.

that second guitar during the main riff is quick , on the weekendi decided to look at it ...not difficult but very fast ... i got a way to go on that

Even though my ability isn't anywhere close to where I can even start learning solos, I have been tinkering with the leads on painkiller quite a bit.............I love the speed of that song.........

It is awesome. Just the sweep and taping parts are getting me. I mean he does it one after the other so fast and precise.

Priest could always play. Between them and Maiden, Priest were the truly skilled guitarists imo. (Maiden write better, more unique riffs though, which is what really counts, again imo.)

Downing and Tipton are both in the top 30 of Joel McIver's book "greatest metal guitarists", for whatever that's worth.

My longwinded point is, getting a Priest solo down is a formidable challenge: good stuff guys, be brave!

That is what I love about the guitar. There is always a challenge to tackle. never get dull.

I'm learning 2 DEATH solos atm, altering the future and low life off the spiritual healing album, my speed needs an awful lot of work. there's a really quick change to finger tapping in low life that's killing me atm, but I'm getting there sloooooowly. ?

I dunno if picking up a guitar for the first time counts as "working towards", but I'd love to be able to play the solo from Lip Gloss and black. That piece gives me goosies every time!

I always thought it would be great to take a...dare i say... Britney Spears song, and write a thrash type solo over certain parts.
Anything Metal would add to a BS song, not take away..(Just a disclaimer for all you closet Britney fans ?)
