OK. I have an answer from Chris Kinman. Basically it boils down to buying power - the more we can buy as a group, the higher the discounts (see below). We need an order of at least $1000 (at retail price, before discount) to even get our foot in, which is approximately four sets of pickups.
Minimum Order at List price:
US Dollar Euro Discount
$ 1000 € 800 10%
$ 2000 € 1600 15%
$ 4000 € 3200 20%
$10000 € 8000 30%
$15000 €12000 35%
$20000 €16000 40%
Note that these figures exclude shipping and remember that a group buy will likely make international shipping cheaper (offset slightly by the need for local packaging and shipping). I won't add any markup or anything on - whatever it costs is what you'll pay. I'm probably not even going to order anything myself this time.
SO...
First thing we have to do is see how much serious interest we have here. To this end, please reply below with what you would like to order and the retail value in Euros. Then we can tot that up and see where we stand. Remember that it'll take a month at least (probably more like two) before we can get everything ready to order, so you will have time to save up.
Also, FYI
Chris is adding more products to his lineup soon:
* A Strat pickup with ultra high output that sounds like a P-90,
* Ditto for a Tele bridge pickup, great for neck humbucker installs.
* Two humbuckers, one with a single coil vibe similar to a P-90 but with more power.
* A non-aged noiseless Strat pickup called the Impersonator 54. This is already on his site.

I'd be interested in the humbucker set... Any idea of when? and if there is more information somewhere else?
Would be for my ES-335... single coil vibe... Sounds like my kinda vibe ?
1 set... price unknown

Hi Alan, you can put me down for the "Impersonator 54" set for Strat. As soon as you're ready to order, (you did mention it will take a few weeks before we place the order), I will let you know if there are any extras if that's ok. Otherwise, we just go with the set.
I think it may be Euro195, retail. Can't seem to get to the retail pricing on the Kinman site.

That's fine ......... thanx Brent .... ?

I'm in for either a Strat or a Tele set Alan, but will decide this weekend and modify this post.
Ok, I'm in for a set of Impersonator 54's - as per Brent = EUR210 (I think - also no prices when I get to his site - some really odd technical issues with his site by the way ???)
Gearhead
Put Gearhead up for two sets:
1 mixed two pup Strat set of one Hx-85 and one AVn-62 (Blues) coming in at $176
1 Broadcaster set at $226
May our discount be great! 8)

Small bump so other people can see this ?

I also can't see any prices on site - tells me 'cookie expired'. Running latest Firefox. Anybody figured this quirk out?

Have you signed up and logged in?

Sorted - thanks!

I have now managed to enter the site without hiccups and am also now confused ☹
I said I wanted Impersonator 54's but after reading the site info am wondering if I shouldn't be getting Trad III's or Blues ....Help!!! ?

The Impersonator '54s are the latest (and arguably greatest), modelled to sound like a new Fender CS '54 set - bright, punchy, bell-like with a scooped midrange. The Traditionals have an "aged sound" like an older pickup - slightly softer attack and sweeter highs. They also have a bit more of a midrange push.

Im interested, but when will the group buy happen?
End of FEB or MAR?

Hey I think we should set a deadline for the buy. I am quite keen to get my pups.
How about it Alan? ?

OK. Been very busy the last couple of weeks, but I'll start the process in a few days.

The site still keeps refreshing back to the home page for me on opera, firefox and IE. After logging in it gets better but still occasionally goes to home page again.
Very weird...
