I will admit to having a couple of pro engineers at work who gave me a lot of advice.

The guitar is just my amp (Rivera Jake Studio) and a tubescreamer for the solo bits with a bit of compression added in the mixing stage.

Indeed. Nice separation. Plus I always like a little harp. Well done mate! And I wouldn't worry about length unless you're writing for radio and you're not, unless I much miss my guess.
