Can someone please explain to me the Dealio with F SPACING Humbuckers
I dont get it ?

F-space is for wider string spacing on floyd-style bridges. so the pole pieces on the pick-ups are slightly further apart than non F-spaced.
SD calls it "trembucker"

Actually Guy, it stands for "Fender" - which have wider polepiece spacing compared to the standard Gibson humbucker all 'buckers are based on. Floyds were designed for Fender style guitars, so their string spacing matches too.

i thought it stood for Fender, but i wasn't sure :-[ (see my round about response to andrew ?)
So are all trem bridges wider than Gibson style bridges? what if you fit a Kahler to your SG? ?
AlanRatcliffe
There are three widths commonly used for bridges:
Bridge typesImperial
fractionImperial
decimalMetric
Gibson Nashville2-1/32"2.030"52.73mm
Mex/Jap Strat, Gibson ABR-12-1/16"2.076"52.73mm
US Strat, Floyd, Wilkinson2-1/8"2.125"53.97mm
Vintage Strat2-7/32"2.179"55.35mm
I'm not sure, but I think the Kahlers are the same spacing as the Floyds. The problem is the pickups are designed for the extremes - the Fender single-coils are designed for the vintage Strat spacing, while the PAF was designed for the Nashville bridge. Other than cosmetics, the polepiece spacing isn't a huge issue. A bigger issue is that fitting a wider bridge than the standard brings the strings closer to the edges of the fretboard. But even then, as long as you don't stray too far from the original, it's not a problem.
