CornFlakes Howdy Peeps! I’m looking into buying myself a midi controller don’t have a clue how to play keyboard but some say its not necessary. The Midi controller I’m looking at the moment is the Edirol PCR 300..
Vintage-Vibe Hi CF: Give some serious consideration to 1 of these: The AKAI MPK49 controller - go to: http://www.musicgadgets.net/2007/03/28/akai-professional-mpk49-usbmidi-controller/ Very popular at the moment - Bothners get them VV
CornFlakes I Have actually read a review somewhere about the AKAI MPK49 its got some nice features for example the drum pads.. Do you know what they going for?
Manfred-Klose Do you have any experience with midi stuff? It can get complicated at times, ecspecially when you use it as a controller as well. What do you want to use it for? triggering it as a soft synth, or use it to adjust your plugins and sequencer programs? both maby.
CornFlakes I want to mainly use it for my soft synth’s and to adjust the plugin’s. I’m still a bit of a newbie on computer based music making but I know what’s going on. Why I’m really interested in buying a controller is because I got the Native Instruments Komplete 4 package and I think it would work great with a controller.
Vintage-Vibe Hi CornFlakes The AKAI is USB/MIDI which helps. Phone Bothners CT 021 761 4828 and ask for Dave or Greg - they'll give you the retail - if it's not NETT priced u can get discount still. VV
