FULL HOUSE Special Invitation to GFSA'ers in Cape Town

THANKS TO THE ROCKERS THAT CAME ALONG!
TONIGHT TONIGHT Tuesday the 28th Renesongs, Singemonkey and Jack Flash Jr will be hosting a year end get together for some family and friends (that's all of you!) at the Blooze Bar @ 108 Kloof St, Cape Town. The Hellfire Blues Club will be playing, as will special guest GFSA's Viccy. We'll kick off around 9pm but feel free to come earlier and enjoy the sunset view of Table Mountain from the bar.
Swing by, introduce yourselves, make new contacts (in person!) etc. etc.

? yeah i really miss not being in CT in the summertime .....but hey the gigs are up here and it's the money that buys the whiskey ....... your evening sounds like fab idea ... enjoy........... truly sounds awesome........ looking forward to hearing your band in future.......

Well I've been to three up here since I joined the forum, plus there was a night at TJs with significant GFSA presence and the setup workshops at MacGibbon's. So they've happened (and I think there was one that I missed as well).

most of us up here in gauteng who gripe do it quite tongue in cheek......most of the time .....

cos truly if one is a pro or semi pro muso , you need to be in jhb or within reach of it to get the full potential of all the music industry opportunities...... like it or not jhb is the hub of the SA music scene, and i'm not saying nothing is happening elsewhere

but guess Jhb is to pro muso's what Hollywood is to actors and the film industry in states.... things happen countrywide

but there's definitely a hub here in Jhb which supports all styles ,acoustic/jazz/session work/rock ect ect

so yeah we might not have the ocean or that flat mountain on the skyline but i wouldn't trade living in jhb for anything while i'm making a living as a performing muso . anyway thats why musicians tour ? but besides that some highveld sunsets are so beautiful.and we do have our beautiful spots.....

so no need for sympathy we choose to live here ?

but back on topic i do wish i could be at this gig.... what i seen from video's of the Hellfire blues club they defintely appeal to my tastes

As Bob has said there have been quite a few get togethers, we even had a workshop on Travis picking 8), and TJ's is an excellent venue to meet fellow GFSA members.

Watch out for the details in the new year.

Would love to see you guys play, from the photographs, you all look like serious rock and rollers 8) ... and then there is Viccy! It will be good stuff

Enjoy the camping Nick. We(as a family) had our first go at camping last week , apart from the 10 hours of torrential rain on the first night, it was good stuff.

It's going to be really neat to meet a few more GFSA'ers. I've never encountered another forum in which I'd actually like to meet most of the members - even the Gibson fans ?
