Turnkey music - armed robbery

IceCreamMan

Got to Turnkey yesterdya afternoon and they had just been robbed...Dont have all the details but everyone was physically ok.

Music stores are not exempt from criminal activity.... a robust entry system a la music connection is the way to go i gues.

LOL I would hardly call the music connection doorman a "robust entry system" ?

MIKA-the-better-one

I was at music connection yesterday ...... hmmmmmm, at least that door guy can watch out for suspicious peoples :-\

Mr-M

Yeah, the guys at Turnkey got robbed yesterday around 4pm by a group of 5 guys with guns. Rounded the employees and some customers up in a back room, stole anything on their persons and made off with some carefully selected stock - basically a complete recording studio. They seemed to know what they were looking for apparently.

I will post a list of what was stolen in this thread so you guys can look out for those items should you see anything on Gumtree/ Junkmail or elsewhere. Doubtful, but it's still worthwhile to check.

The employees are all getting trauma counseling and as is often the case after such a thing, retro-active increased security measures are being implemented. Most importantly everyone there is still alive and OK.

The police were very quick to arrive and I'm told were done with their interviews and CSI by around 7pm. Credit where it is due, they did a good job according to those involved.

Again, thankfully everyone is still alive and breathing.

Mr-M

Please be on the outlook for any of these items that were stolen from Turnkey on Monday.

ITEM & Serial Number
Digi 003 Mix Factory - APL08510893E
Presonus Monitor Station - M109050105
Apogee Ensemble - EN75820
Euphonix MC Mix - 1027R080222
Mecer LV32C LCD - 6491GGB22B0499
Steinberg CC121 - EAON01051
Peavey XR1220 - OAAJI090016
PRODIPE RIBBON 8 Studio Monitors

Looks like it was a shopping list but if they decide to sell there is a good chance they will need to do so through a music shop or online classifieds.

Should anyone approach you to buy, please call Peter Tuerk on his cell phone on 082 4429095. Or if this is not an option request a contact no so you can call them back to confirm the purchase.

We really appreciate your assistance in this regard. Thanks guys. ?

Thanks. My colleagues at Turnkey are understandably rather anxious to get their gear back. ?

Total value is around R88700 excluding the LCD (no idea what that costs).

Yeah, it is a scary thought. I'm glad I didn't go there to try out a couple of things as I was planning to do around that time. Thankfully I was distracted by something else. I'm glad you didn't get there earlier.

The 5 Gunmen, maybe starting a band?

That is allot of money they got away with!

Mr-M

? More like starting a recording studio. That is just the worth of the gear. They also got everybody's cellphones and wallets too and some cash from the till.

Bastards! They might start recording soon, you never know!

I'm just glad no one got hurt!

Hmmm, does make you think. How long after the robbers left? Just about long enough to remove your balaclava? ?

infernox

that is a shopping list, plain and simple.

Probably some okes who want to get into music (gangsta rap maybe?) and decided to steal the gear instead of buy it, or maybe even just a oke paying them R20000 to get the gear for him/her.

Is Lyle alright?

Mr-M

Lyle seems to be OK. He's his usual old self. ?

? Not guilty m'lud.......

Mr-M

As of last week, four of the robbers are now behind bars (they're still looking for two), including the guy who issued the shopping list. All items minus one recovered in an operational, albeit scratched, condition.

Well done SAPS! ?

Wow, that's good news. BTW, Mr T, I think that probably warrants a call/email to Talk Radio 702, no?

IceCreamMan
