Hi Everyone, so happy I have found this place!
I recently inherited a Guitar from my recently deceased grandfather. He played for years and traveled frequently to South America and Spain (The guitar is spanish classical and I think from Madrid or Valencia). The guitar was one of a few of his but this particular one I think has journeyed with him on a few occasions.
It is in a really bad state. Needs some polishing, new strings, and the bridge needs major repair.
I recently moved from Joburg to Cape Town and have no idea where to go for repairs. Could anyone put me onto someone here? It would be really appreciated...
Many thanks in advance

Hi Skye, welcome to the forum!
Depends on how good a guitar it is and how much it's worth.
Marc Maingard in Scarborough is your best bet if it's a really good guitar - he's a world-class builder, but will only work on good guitars, is expensive and has a relatively slow turnaround time. (021) 790-1236 (IIRC).
Your other option is Foster van der Merwe in Plattekloof (N Suburbs) who, while not in the same leagues as Marc, does great work reasonably quickly and inexpensively. (021) 939-5259.
Hope that helps.

Hi Alan,
Thanks so much for the reply. I am not sure of the quality, all I know is that it was purchased in Spain. I will give both those people a call.
Thanks so much!
