No price mentioned. I guess it's a case of "if you have to ask, you can't afford it."

PS: Why do you think HFG have deliberately blurred the serial number? To stop forgers replicating it?

I note that Gruhn's have a '57 Gold Top for sale. Not in as nice condition as HFG's item. Reduced to $80000.

I saw that guitar a few weeks ago (on Hughs website)....... wow....... I can only imagine what that would cost! It'll probably get bought by some collector from the UAE, but then it has no "famous personality history",.......... so...........???

You think it's all mahogany? I can't see the seam of the cap inside the cutaway, and I believe some gold-tops were all mahogany construction.

Looks in pretty good nick. Looks all original apart from a refret at some point.

You may be right. I may just mention that my R6's maple cap at the cutaway is stained so that it matches the colour of the mahogany.
But in this case I can't see any sign of that ??

Maybe, just maybe, they do not know that, or have not noticed it..? I wonder whether this will lower/increase its desireability to collectors ?
