Cheesy song parts

I often have to deal with some very cheesy suggestions for songs, such as clapping where it shouldn't be, plenty "oohs and aaahs" and the odd idea to end a song on a random word. (very punk rock isn't it)

What are the crazy idea's you've heard or come up with?

I performed Sweet Home Alabama at a gig recently. In the recording Skynyrd says "Montgommery's got the answer" towards the end of the song. I didn't plan on doing that but for some reason, when I was on stage, I felt that I should put something in there. I don't know what possessed me but I caught myself just in time before uttering "All your base are belong to us!"

Somehow I still think it could have been funny but I'm glad I didn't. I probably did look like a dork though, wanting to gooi a phrase but ending up cutting it short. :-[

I've got this great - if I say so myself ? - instrumental that is forever stuck with the name, "Orange," thanks to, guess who, the drummer. I didn't have a name for it. He came up with that. You leave it for a week or so, it gets onto set-lists, and then it sticks.

The cheesy bits are there all the time - In my younger days I used to get pissed off with them. Now, in my dotage, I reckon as long as I use them with a 'knowing' smile on my face, the astute members of the audience will understand. If not... too bad. 8)

i remember the awesomely talented Joe Jackson end a song on the look sharp cd way back in 80's ....i forget which one. ...... but the song if fairly rocking but ends as if it's brutally cut off mid phrase and Joe jackson says in that sudden silence " right thats enough"

My band has a 1 minute instrumental elctronica thing - basically a backing track we've programmed to allow us to change guitars, tune up etc mid show...It's got Tabla and other cool stuff, best of all though - we sampled the spaceship noises from the game space invaders and did a crazy stereo pan on it, hopefully it'll tweak people out just a little :-[

We also end a different track with a big powerful orchestra section that has a guitar solo over it - I think it's f***ing awesome but I won't deny for a moment that it's cheesy as hell.

We don't have a keyboard player so all of our synth sounds, samples and glitch drums come from a little portable unit that plays our backing tracks ? admittedly the creative freedom that not having to deal with a keyboard (cause most don't have great sounds or are very limited in some way) is really awesome, but ultimately being in a band with a "hidden" 5th member is a bit cheesy... ?

Well the new cool cheesy, is placing a lit cigarrete in between your guitar strings at the headstock whilst playing. Or simply smoking whilst playing. Its becoming sooo overdone.
